Bio

The Hound, Phat James, and Killa Cally attended high school together in Simsbury, CT with a bunch of other rebel-rousin' yahooligans. They all jammed together and played in various bands throughout high school before separating for college. Now reunited in Allston and Brighton, MA, outside Boston, they've begun work under the Boilermakers. They've gotten together several basic recordings of some of their original material, and are now ready to hit the pavement and start doing the damn thing.

The Hound attended University of Miami before transferring to Berklee School of Music in Boston. He's a kickass guitarist, but also a kickass drummer, so he gets to play the drums.

Phat James also attended Berklee. He walks jazz lines on the upright bass, and also throws down funk and other good shit on the electric.

Killa Cally went to upstate New York for school at St. Lawrence University, where he studied English and played in several groups. He joined the other two in Boston in January 2013, providing vocals and guitar.

Their tastes overlap, and they bring various styles and influences to their songwriting. Most important is that the song makes you move, in some way, be it physically or emotionally, and hopefully both. They don't set out to write in a specific style, or aimlessly jam. They approach an idea and try to figure out where it wants to go.

Live performance is their fix. Even if it's just a band practice, and someone happens to be in the room, everything gets taken up a notch. The goal is to connect with an audience, to give them energy and then feed off their response.

The trio is working on a few other tunes that are not recorded, and hope to record all of them in higher quality soon. They've also been working with a couple horn players, in hopes of adding that dimension to their sound.
