The Boro Boogie Pickers

The Boro Boogie Pickers

BandCountryBluegrass

A bourbon soaked hoedown. The name is catchy and so is the music. Our goal is to have fun, and party. We let that show through our music.

Biography

The Boro Boogie Pickers evolved from countless conversations of starting some kinda bluegrassy project with some ole Waynesboro friends. Well, they dusted off the strings and began breaking ground in March of 2007. The spirit and the idea of the band remains true, "loose old-timey music", which is exactly what they've accomplished thus far.

After several shows, the band cut an album in a few sessions. "Barn and Raised", their debut album, was released in August of 2007. It is a mix of original songs written by members of the BBP. The dedication of friends and fans is what fuels the Boogie Pickin' Freight Train. The BBP are grateful for all the support! The band is excited to reach many new fans and introduce them to the BBP family!

Lyrics

Alive

Written By: Eric Avey

Runnin like a frieght train, rollin as fast as we can
One more mountain, just around the bend
Soarin like an eagle, but never high, we'll never know
Well it's one more rest stop, then it's off to the show

We drove through the dark past, as many did
Still movin fast...
A lonesome shot of highways, but this one's gonna pass
Climbin on the last peak, and the last train, yeah boarded down...
We found our destination, in this sorry little town...

HOPE...We make it home tonight
HOPE...We make it home alive, live, live...

So we started pickin, and the doorman, he winks an eye
We won the crowd approval, but still we gonna die
So I looked toward the dobro, and to the bass
He rang a note...
A blanket of sorrows, let's head on down the road...

Rollin like a frieght train, headed home, not lookin back
The sheriff right behind us, he's ready to attack
Headin back a short cut, and the dirt roads
Will lead the way
Stop and rest the next town, before we gotta play

HOPE...We make it home tonight
HOPE...We make it home alive, live, live...

We found our ole homestead, and we found a place
To lay our heads
Yeah, no more pickin, for those cowboys again
We'll stick to the good ones and for a buck
We'll sing a song
Please will you excuse us, cuz we won't be stayin long

HOPE...We make it home tonight
HOPE...We make it home alive, live, live...

Highway

Written By: Brad Munn

I was looking for trouble, I was looking for pain.
lord knows it didnt take long for me to catch that train.
I walked on the highway, I walked in the sun.
lord knows im a peace lovin man and i sure dont want to hurt no one.

(chorus)
take a walk on the highway, to catch a ride on a train.
take a walk on the highway, to catch a ride on a train.

met this girl with the big brown eyes, her hair was a tumblin down.
the greatest poet i ever met the way her tongue caressed the sounds.
intertwined in wine she danced as her mind began to play.
she stumbled the rapids and openned the ocean and when she came she had nothing to say except.

she loved life, but knew that everybody dies.
she loved life, but knew that everybody dies.
she loved life, but knew that everybody dies.
she loved life, but knew that everybody dies.

I walk with a cane, this is how i get around,
directed by the wind, and the rain thats coming down,
symbolism and philosophy this is what i understand,
the birds and bees and the tall willow trees and the treasures beneath the sands.

Grey

Written By: Jon Ingels

Seems like these days nothing stays the same

All's washed away by the wind and the rain

Colors new seem to fade away

Gleaming silver just turns into grey

Chorus:

And I'm wasting time for the better

Salutations in your letter

It's whittled down in to nothing

Tried so hard for your blessing

But I'm searching for a reason
And I'll settle for Treason

Just put me on the firing line

Or just let me die in time

I've seen the world through exotic eyes

Mad men in a hero's disguise

I've been down in the darkest of holes

Relaying numbers to the media tolls

I've crossed the valleys in the darkest of night
Head strong by a beacon of light
I'm not the one here to make you believe
Robinhood with an ace up his sleeve
