Bio

Hailing from Dallas by way of Fort Worth, El Paso, & Houston, The Boss Level is a Soul-Rock band that blends numerous musical genres into a sound all their own. Created in late 2008, The Boss Level is a band that consists of the remaining members of college-jam-rock outfit FTL. Upon FTL's dissolution in April of 2008, Daniel Hardaway, Josh Vandenburg, Paul Garza, & Evan Gentry set out to create their own distinctive sound that would not only separate them from their previous band, but every other band as well. Adding good friend & multi-instrumentalist talent Justin Barbee in 2010, The Boss Level has been firing on all cylinders as of late with performances @ Lolapalooza in Fort Worth & the House of Blues in Houston opening for national artist Scott McCurry & the Mercenaries.
By incorporating heavy funk grooves with traditional riff-based rock, The Boss Level found its sound within those constructs yet longed to take it even further. They succeeded in doing so by exploring transitions in musical arrangements to allow for hip-hop breaks, rap verses, horn section shout choruses, electronica elements, and so much more giving their audience a taste of all the inspirations that provide The Boss Level with the mojo to make mo' music.
At any given performance or within any single original composition you can hear hints of Johnny "Guitar" Watson & Stevie Ray Vaughn fused with the likes of Jamiroquai & the Red Hot Chili Peppers. You may also find yourself hearing pieces of Lenny Kravitz or 311 likened with Cake or Stevie Wonder. Perhaps you may notice a hybrid of Bob Marley & The Beatles. There are countless combinations and muses, but The Boss Level is merely an amalgamation of the various artistic influences each member has within their musical conscious, focused sharply into a music with heavy groove & precise pop sensibilities, and it works.....WELL.
