The Bowtie Trio

Three guys in bow ties take the stage at a bar in downtown St. Louis. In contrast to the metal and punk music that floods the local youthful music scene, these gentlemen play something a little bit easier on the ears. Their sound is poppy- even mainstream, but carries mature jazz roots. In this way, they are rather distinct. On stage, they appear as if they couldn't possibly be having a better time. The audience can't help but to join them. People dance to the music, relate to it, and sing along.

We are The Bowtie Trio. Currently, the three of us are finishing up our first year at Greenville College. We came here together to study music and to further pursue our dream of playing our music for a living.

Two years ago, we met through a church. In addition to sharing the same faith, we also shared similar musical backgrounds. Influences such as John Mayer, Jason Mraz, Michael Buble, and Sara Bareilles funneled into a style that fit perfectly. We disagree about everything from where we eat, to t-shirt designs, to who has to sit in the middle of the cramped, three-seat truck we drive from show to show. But we agree on our music. We agree on how it is sounds and what it says. It is this agreement that makes us a band. And it is the strength of this agreement that truly sets us apart.
