NASHVILLE RECORDING ARTISTS LYNNMARIE AND CHARLIE KELLEY RECEIVE THEIR FIFTH GRAMMY NOMINATION.

From a bed at Centennial Hospital they hear the news: SPEECHLESS Earns Nomination For Best Polka Album.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (December 3, 2008) -- Nashville recording artists LynnMarie and Charlie Kelley have been nominated for a GRAMMY in the category of Best Polka Album for their album Speechless. The nominations were revealed last night on grammy.com after a special television presentation of the Grammy Nominations Countdown on CBS. The duo heard the news while at Centennial Hospital, where Charlie is recovering from surgery for Colon Cancer. This marks LynnMarie's fifth GRAMMY nomination in this category, and the first as the duo The Boxhounds.

On receiving the nomination, LynnMarie said, "Being here in the hospital with Charlie gives everything a different perspective. When you’re fighting something like cancer it makes you really grateful for all the blessings in your life, including being able to play music. The fact that we were recognized by NARAS is icing on the cake!” “Because this is an instrumental record, the music truly did speak for itself, which makes this nomination even more rewarding. Thanks to the fans and friends who have supported us for so many years, ” said Charlie.

Speechless, LynnMarie’s 15th album, was released in August 2008. LynnMarie was previously nominated for her 2003 CD LynnMarie + The Boxhounds, The Polka Record in 2002 and SqueezeBox in 2000 and is the only female to hold the honor. Charlie Kelley is one of Nashville premier guitar players. He was a member of the country trio The Buffalo Club in the late 90’s who had several top twenty hits and has toured with numerous other artists.

Speechless was also produced by Kelley and features duets with Kathy Zamejc Vogt and Ryan Joseph Ogrodny. Musicians on the album include Nashville’s own Tom Baldrica on Tuba and band members Tony Nagy and Mike Zimmerman.

The 51st GRAMMY Awards will air live from the Los Angeles STAPLES Center on February 8, 2009 on CBS.

FIVE-TIME GRAMMY NOMINEES
LYNNMARIE & CHARLIE KELLEY,
COMBINE THE STRUM AND THE SQUEEZE!

Jay Leno called her the Dixie Chick of the accordion, and Austin OConnor of The Sun, a newspaper based in Lowell, Massachusetts where LynnMarie & The Boxhounds have played the National Folk Festival, called her undoubtedly the sexiest player ever to strap on an accordion! Rolling Stone chimed in: LynnMarie is one soulful polka diva.

Charlie Kelley is one of Nashvilles premier guitar players. His career in music has spanned over fifteen years, and his resume reads artist, songwriter and Grammy Nominated producer. As an artist he has recorded on Dolly Partons Blue Eye Records as well as Columbia and Universal. As a guitarist, he has performed with Doug Stone, Keith Urban, Rebecca Lynn Howard and Tom Wopat, just to name a few. Hes has several top-ten hits and much critical acclaim.

Together, they are creating a new music genre that is entertaining, inspiring and enjoyable!

LynnMarie & Charlies musical blending of rock, country and pop, together with the accordion and guitar have garnered them worldwide recognition. Whether its on stage with their band The Boxhounds, keeping 6,000 twenty-year olds on their feet at one of the countries largest Oktoberfests, or at an acoustic show in your home for a crowd of fifty people, they communicate their love for life through their music. And when they arent on the road touring, they spend their time in the recording studio, or writing with other artists. Recently they have been collaborating with such greats as Dobie Gray, Hal Ketchum, Riders In the Sky, and Graham Russell of Air Supply.

Weve found that if you make good, fun music with integrity and honesty, people will discover it and love it. For us, knowing someone is sitting out there for an hour, listening and allowing us to transport them to a different place is very gratifying. We do this music because its who we are. We fell in love with our instruments as kids, and never wanted to do anything else. And our collaboration is about the great things that can happen, when the unexpected happens!

Its time for a change, and you will be entertained like never before!
