Bio

The Branch came together in 2007 after Jorge Casco(drums) brought Eleazar "Chito" Perez(bass/synth) the idea of a live hip-hop band. With Jorge active in the B-Boy scene and busy schedule touring all over the nation and in various parts of the world, he decided to step back into his first love. Music. Knowing Chito as a kid, both with similar musical backgrounds they came together along with Rock Williams(lead vocals,) another B-Boy partner of Jorge, and formed The Branch. After a few sessions in Brian Whites' recording space at his job, B-White(vocals) was added to the line up. Along with a guitarist name Mark, they began to work on production and ideas into the future. It wasn't long before Chito was forced to take a leave of absence for 9 months.
Meanwhile The Branch pressed on in the lab and created the layout for the unreleased Sippin Zig-Zag Music album. In late November, Chito returned to his well maintained position as the bands bass player and tied up some loose ends. Around that same time, Mark moved to Austin,TX. and the act was left without a guitarist. Linda joined the group for a short while and helped them set a pace into their live performance. Yet, due to creative differences and lack of dedication Linda was replaced with Ken King on guitar.
Chito and Jorge met Ken at a house party where he performed an acoustic set and the duo provided the sound. After bringing both projects into a conversation, The Branch core was complete. Sure enough they didn't waste any time with the addition, and began to pick up the slack. Shortly after, more shows were lined up and opportunities began to grow. Not to mention the sound of the group began to come alive.
DJ Nando1 came into the set and brought another element for the group. By this time its 2009 and with more direction in line, the guys began to record. Unfortunately the only slots opened for a chance in low budget professional recordings, were from students in local community colleges and tech schools. In the end was a wasteful effort and an empty hand for The Branch.
Now its getting into the last quarter of 09' and with newborns in Brian and Chitos' lives it was beginning to look like the end of a dream. Although the The Branch would not call it quits they went on hiatus in 2010. Everyone began to press into their own lives for the good and after a few ups and downs, the group re-ignited the project at the end of the year.
Since The Branchs' return into the lab, there has been new production and even a new direction for the group. In hopes of a final release of the anticipated Sippin Zig-Zag Music album in 2011, The Branch has been constantly in the studio working on its masterpiece. As of now no shows have been booked but talks of performances are in the works for late spring, early summer of 2011 and so on.
