"The tracks manage to both provoke thought and elevate the heartbeat. They stand up to repeated listenings." - Albuquerque the Magazine Sept. 2012. - Albuquerque The Magazine
In getting further acquainted with the music scene here in Albuquerque, New Mexico, ROCKWIRED has showcased the edgy sounds of bands such as LEIAHDORUS, OF GOD AND SCIENCE and LOUSY ROBOT. Now the band THE BREAKTONE has come across our radar with their NEW MEXICO MUSIC AWARD winning debut CD LINES DIVIDE. THE BREAKTONE was formed in 2007 and is composed of five young, talented musicians. After recording a demo of original songs only three months after its inception, THE BREAKTONE quickly gained notoriety as one of the most inventive but sensible bands in New Mexico, creating cohesive, effortless rock songs, often with beatboxing, five-part harmonies, jazz progressions, and instrumental interplay, yet never sacrificing the song for its individual parts. Taking a detailed RADIOHEAD approach in a live DAVE MATTHEWS BAND setting, THE BREAKTONE promises to continue to evolve into one of Albuquerque's greatest talents ever.
