Bio

Based in Edmonton, Alberta, The Bridle Party is a band born of difference. Pianist/vocalist Brittany Ayotte, drummer Jude Mugford, and former bassist Dylan Webster have all come from different places, both musically and geographically.

2010’s debut album “Class Act” showcases this beautifully: Mugford’s aggressive drumming make the songs explosive, hinting at his past experience as a metal drummer in Ontario; Webster’s quick and complicated bass lines weave darkly through the songs, reflective of the talent he developed in New Brunswick; and Ayotte’s mixture of jazz and classical piano, coupled with a voice that is prone to singing softly and then striking out suddenly, indicate the inquisitive perception of a young Albertan girl.

The Bridle Party’s live shows carry the same passion and style. The members don wedding attire, adding a visually stimulating touch to their music, the whole package appropriately described by the band as “Gloom Pop”.

Dylan Webster departed the band in November 2010, returning to his hometown in New Brunswick. His sister, Bailey Webster, has since stepped in on bass. The band is currently playing live shows in Edmonton, and working on new songs.
