Bio

We all gravitate toward soul, no matter what genre it comes from. Our influences range from Jamiroquai, RHCP, Kimbra, The Meters, Q-Tip, Groove Armada, Tribe Called Quest, John Frusciante...The list goes on and on.

Although we respect the following...
We aren't the rock band with the crazy guitar solos and sometimes cliche frontman.
We aren't the singer/songwriter who wants you to know how much sorrow s/he is going through...
We aren't the jam band playing 10 min songs
We aren't the jazz group playing music that most people can't identify with.

We are what we aren't.

It is the dawn of a new age where good music with honest, sincere intentions can overcome the force-fed cookie cutter that has given even pop a bad name, we hope we can just provide music that doesn't need lyrics to make people feel it and influence their mood. We're just being sincere translating the musics that have aligned great things in the cosmos for us and trying to supply that for all willing. Our EP "COLOURS" is in the recording process and will be released late 2012 early 2013. Enjoy our single "Syncopy" its b-side on soundcloud.com/thebrotherscosmos

History:
Ethan and Matthew are former drum students of John from 2005-2008, (making 3/4 of this band drummers by trade). Matt played in Jazz band with Ethan and Matthew (2006-2008). Matthew on the side had been writing music on guitar on the side. John studied Jazz at ASU (2008-2010), for drum-set but took quite a liking to the piano training and arrangement/composition.

June 3, 2011: THE FORMATION
The four of us had all been hanging out together quite a bit during this time. Sharing music, sharing art, enjoying recipes...It wasn't until June 3rd, 2011 that we just all decided to get together to actually make music, Matthew grabbing the guitar and John grabbing the keys. Needless to say, magic happened and we immediately connected musically and got a clear glimpse into the future. The rest is history.
