Athens' own FLAGPOLE calls The Brothers Gore a "local trio playing rough and upbeat Power Pop!" - Flagpole

you guys/gals like your rock a little ragged around the edges? i know i freakin do. the more polished a record, the more bored i get, typically. if you answered yes, or better yet “hellz yeah, then let me introduce you to some men from athens, ga, the brothers gore. in my world shit like this goes a long way. very replacementy, but more coherent, and also kind of big starry, but a little less poppy. either way you slice em, the brothers gore has got yr number if you like your pop with power. check em! - Captain's Dead music blog

2003: "FRAG"
2008: "Paper Yachts and The Reasons For The Whiskey"

The Brothers Gore formed in 2002, in the mountains of Southwest Virginia, and out of the ashes of a great, unknown rock group, The Most. While other members from The Most decided to go in different directions, Steve and Jason Gore decided to remain together, and continue with the hard edged Power Pop/Indie Rock sound that they had been playing since childhood, with strong influences from Elvis Costello, The Beatles, The Clash, Queen, The Jam, Bruce Springsteen, and Neil Young & Crazy Horse.

With the addition of bassist Adam Rainville, the band moved its home base of rock from Radford, Virginia to Athens, Georgia in 2003, where they have been steadily picking up steam ever since. In 2007, they added a second guitarist with Chris Hammond, another Radford transplant living in Georgia. The guys are currently at DARC in Athens, finishing up an EP called "Paper Yachts and The Reasons For The Whiskey", which will be available in May.
