""Springhill's Brown launches first solo album""

SPRINGHILL – What would you do if you were a Maritime musician carving a niche for yourself in the music industry?
Into the Woulds is Springhill’s Chris Brown’s first solo album, released last week. A two-year retrospective of his life and experiences as a musician in Atlantic Canada, the songs, Brown says, reflect moments in his life where inspiration is found close to home.
“I was driving between Antigonish and New Glasgow and I got lost — can’t believe that anyone can get lost between Antigonish and New Glasgow — and that experience alone inspired two songs on the album,” Brown says.
“‘What You’re looking For’ would be kind of a home song for Springhill.”
Known for his work as frontman for the touring group Nicknameless, also of Springhill, Brown says Into the Woulds became an accomplishment and an achievement for himself and his peers. The well of encouragement throughout the two-year recording process never ran dry. Jamie Folds, an East Coast Music Award-winning producer, and Palmer Jamieson, a student of Folds, had unique approaches to recording Brown’s work but their encouragement, Brown says, was universal.
“A lot of people wanted to have a finished product as much as I did,” Brown says. “It was really cool. It’s nice to have people as excited as me to finish this.”
Into the Woulds is on sale locally at the Anne Murray Centre and can be ordered directly from Brown by e-mailing brownthebrown@gmail. com.

Bio

Chris Brown, singer/songwriter known throughout the East coast music scene as The Brown, coming out of Springhill N.S graces the stage with dynamic talent, a feiry voice and spirited songwriting that cannot help but to spark interest within his audience. With Browns natural ability to express his journey through his songs he has worked endlessly on creating, his first solo album Found in the Woulds.

Independently, releasing this first album, Found in the Woulds, Chris captures the unique play on words in the title and throughout his song writing quite profoundly. During this album he created a dynamic piece capturing raw human desires, trials, and some tribulations on his two year journey of creating, composing and producing such a genuine album. Throughout this journey Chris could be found enchanting and socializing audiences with a guitar strapped to his side and a real soulful involvement in his style.
The first track on the album, The Record Collection brings spirit, passion and soul to his album which can be heard throughout the entirety. Chris finds refuge in creating beauty through his unique play on words and exceptional picking styles.

Chris can be found on youtube providing acoustic versions of his charming songs and more, in the Cow Blanket series. Chris really captures the spirit that music can provide much more then what is on the surface, he takes you on a little journey and Nova Scotia has been an inspiration aspect along the quest.
