"The Bullet Holes performance review"

"The band know exactly who they want to be and how they want to sound, which will see them fall right into the laps of a very obvious potential audience."
- Mike Wafer, X-Press Magazine, June 2007 - Xpress Magazine

Bio

The Bullet Holes are a high-energy rock-pop group who generate a massive sound that defies their 3 instruments. Their music is creative and inviting, their melodies memorable, and their emotionally charged lyrics offer beautifully honest reflections on what it means to exist in a world that needs our help.

Their goal is simple yet challenging: to create music from the heart that unites and celebrates people, whilst providing a voice for the marginalized and standing up against injustices.

Gigging since early 2006, the trio have well over 100 gigs under their belt, each one an outpouring of heart, soul and sweat. It is regularly said of the band: “Their recordings don’t do their live show justice- you’ve got to see them live to know how good they really are”.

Their debut EP ‘Lost Cause’ was released independently in late 2006, with the first single, Every Day receiving air-time and good responses from radio stations across the nation. In 2007 they followed up with ‘Lay Down Your Guns / Trivialise Your Life’, a double single which saw them getting some Triple J radio play and being selected as a featured artist on Triple J’s unearthed.

The band have played alongside an impressive array of Australian artists, including Bob Evans, Birds of Tokyo, Antiskeptic (VIC), I Killed The Prom Queen (SA), Snowman, Institut Polaire, New Rules For Boats, The Dirty Secrets, Is This Name Taken (NSW), Bullethead (NSW) and Fido (VIC).

Amongst other successes, The Bullet Holes have taken out first place in Gozzy Rock 2006, first place in Ampfest 2006, semi-finalists in Next Big Thing 2006, and grand finalists in Next Big Thing 2007. They have worked with engineers Shaun O'Callaghan (Jebediah, Gyroscope, Eskimo Joe, John Butler Trio) and James Newhouse (Antiskeptic, Operator Please, Dave Mann Collective) on their recordings.

The trio have since been gigging, writing, and fervently working on the character of their sound, preparing for a future. One thing is for sure: they're prepared to push through the tough times because they truly believe they are on to a good thing.
