Bio
The Cacti formed in early 2007 after four long-time friends decided it was time to rock some houses. With the aspiration to enlighten the world in the ways of rock, these boys set out to conquer any and every venue that could contain them. From Hamtramck bars to Ypsilanti art houses, several venues in the metro area have been exposed to what some would call a, "face-meltingly awesome," spectacle. Take Led Zeppelin, Primus, Judas Priest, James Brown, add a dash of mad-hatter humor, and you get a tongue-and-cheek aesthetic that sets The Cacti apart from their cohorts (mostly for good).
During the summer of 2008, the boys decided it was time to take the music from stage to waveform, teaming up with Pearl Sound Studios in Canton to record Demolition Cacti, the band's first EP. After months of packaging and promotion, the CD will see the light of day in Spring of this year.
