The Business, began in recording session with Josh Lake and Paul Girvan. Attempting to record a new song. Ben Girvan was called in to lay down drums and thus the band was formed. Both Josh and Paul are experienced worship leaders in thier own church, across Canada and around the world. Ben has played extensively in the christian music scene in Atlantic Canada. With a heart to see people reached for Jesus Christ, The Business have taken time to write songs that will grab (sometimes shock) people from any circumstance and bring them to the knowledge of Jesus.
Each member of the band have been influenced by pillars in the music industry including: Aerosmith, AC/DC, Guns n' Roses, Motley Crue, Queen and many of those artists who revolutionized rock music forever. As you will hear, The Business draws certain aspects from many to create thier own unqiue brand of hard rock. They have a desire to inject a pure hard rocking energy and excitement into their music which has been missing in the christian music world lately. In a world filled to the brim with artsy and bland so-called, "rock" bands, The Business is the remedy to that. Harkening back to 20 years ago when rock meant, fun, guitar solo's and bravado of the best kind. The Business have captured the best parts of that era and mean to really rock!
