The Cabarets

The band started off with Harrison Read and Shayden Bouwman. They were playing in and out of casual bands since primary school, and have always jammed together since then. We always have just wanted to emulate our heroes in the musical industry, because what they were doing really appealed to us. We've consistently had trouble with drummers until we decided to speak to Karl popov who Harrison had always known about because he knew him from my school, but didnt think he would be interested because of his musical tastes. Netherless Harrison asked him and they have been jamming ever since making more progress then we had hoped for.

Our music have always had quite bit of range when it comes to genres and inspiration, some big bands are the Beatles, Arctic Monkeys, Foals, Muse, Metronomy, The Kooks etc but there are many more ranging from the 60s to now. Friends, family, enemies, past and current experiences and also our town have been major influences so far.

We hope to deliver a range of music that appeals to music lovers but also to the average happy listener. Something to move to, something interesting and somethign unique. Just hopefully overall good music.
