THE CAJUNGA - Dancing With the Boys

Dancing With the Boys, the debut album from Finnish rock band The Cajunga, showcases the mature talent of a young band at full strength.

Together, the members of The Cajunga have grown up and evolved as a band and as individuals. With almost ten years under their belts, the band has constantly worked on the sound, the look, the feel, and even the smell that constitutes their art. In 2007 The Cajunga, then playing under the name The Bad Habit, won a well deserved victory in the prestigious band competition, Turku Bandstand. In 2009, they became The Cajunga and worked with British indie label Feed That Baby Records to release ”No Other Man” and ”In Your Face.”

This year, the band is unveiling the result of their musical evolution in a record that bears the blood, sweat and tears of a decade of hard work. Captured by American producer Brian Fitzpatrick, The Cajunga’s debut album consists of 12 tracks revealing the true layers of depth and experience of this young foursome.

The concept is simple; straight forward rock music with honest lyrics, combined with catchy pop hooks delivered in a tight package. But the outcome is far from simple. The musical journey of this album, from the first piano notes of ”Take Your Time” to the last screams of ”Only You,” tells a story of hope, growing up, finding your way, and hopefully not losing it all in a classic drive toward stardom.

Dancing With the Boys is due to be released in February 2010 through WING Records.

The bands music has been described as Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers on speed, we like to call it The Cajunga music.
