The Capitol

The Capitol

BandRockAlternative

THE CAPITOL shares a unique sound of guitar and percussion, with full piano, filtered through modern alternative rock music. Their work has represented the real meaning of an ‘independent’ band; producing, recording, managing and distributing their CD's single-handedly.

Biography

The Capitol, a three piece independent band from the London Ontario area, consists of a guitar, drums and piano driven sound. Kaleb Hikele, Zack Buck and Bob Ward came together not only because of their dedication to music, but through a burst of inspiration in all three of the members in the band. They have all been playing their instruments for the majority of their lives, and had the feeling that they were finally playing music that grew from something creative in themselves. Bob was refreshing to the band as a songwriter, providing an entertaining character as a guitarist and a musician. Zack's been studying and teaching drums since he was 5 years of age, and Kaleb achieved his Grade 8 Royal Conservatory Piano before he saught after songwriting on the piano. The talent can finally shine through as they bring out everything there is to offer. Finally forming together as a band was easy since everything fell into place, so to speak. The band’s title came from a rundown movie theatre (as people would remember it) that was in their hometown. Recently, “The Capitol Theatre” has been revived and restored to the way it was in the earlier days, which was inspiring to witness. From the beginning their work has represented the real meaning of an ‘independent’ band, producing, recording, managing, booking, packaging and designing the CD's. This has made them master the art of marketing themselves single-handedly. They have established the reputation of self sufficient, yet easily approachable musicians. The Capitol’s music will share a unique sound to its listeners, blending a unique/rare guitar and percussion sound, and a classically trained styled piano, through the filter of modern alt. rock music. They hope to inspire and raise curiosity with their lyrics, while delivering a strong, dramatic power to the music. Full piano, guitar and drums have been worked together in hopes to produce a sound that will change people’s opinions on music. Music should be a bigger part of everyone’s life

Lyrics

Far From Freedom

Written By: The Capitol

So is this the place where we all are safe?
We’re far from freedom now
Can we all depend on what we’ve created?
Maybe that’s all.

So line up these guns to face everyone
We’re all the target now
Imagine all of this place
Living for the day.

Is there something we can say?
If it saves your life, would it make your day?
This is our last call.

So this is the world, the world that we know
Remember these times before
Made this all seem right.

Is there something we can say?
If it saved your life would it make your day?
Would you go all the way
So that you’d know you gave everything?
This is our last call.

It’s never on time, when you can’t find the meanings.
It’s not the right time, to be scared to lose something
It’s not the right time....

I don’t know if there’s something we can say
If it saved your life would it make your day?
This is our last call.
Would you go all the way
So that you’d know you gave everything?
This is our last call.

Would you go, all the way?
Cause this is our last call.

One Stand

Written By: The Capitol

We will need to fight,
just to stay alive.
I know you don’t mind,
but girl you’re a little behind.
Take all of its worth,
find the words to say,
what you mean at the end of the day.

I didn’t say it was written in stone,
Anyway I got kicked to the road.

Because One Stand, Took Over
One Stand, Took Over.

We will need to fight,
just to stay alive.
But I will follow through tonight.
Can you take my word?
I found the words to say,
what I meant at the end of the day.

I didn’t say it was written in stone,
Anyway I got kicked to the road.

Because One Stand, Took Over
One Stand, Took Over.

We will need to fight, just to stay alive, and you don’t seem to mind.
Maybe that’s all the world can do.
We will need to fight, just to stay alive, but I will follow through tonight.
Maybe that’s all that we can do.

Broken Smiles

Written By: The Capitol

Sitting in my room, thinking about her.
And all the good times I thought we had.
As time goes by I’ll always remember.
How on starry nights you fell rejected.

To the broken smiles,
and the screaming voices.
To all the faint regrets.
Broken smiles, screaming voices, to all the faint regrets.

Laying on the roof in the rain.
As it washes away all my tears.
But I never really meant to hurt you.
But I just gave up and I guess I did.

To the broken smiles,
and the screaming voices.
To all the faint regrets.
Broken smiles, screaming voices, to all the faint regrets.
