Bio

The story begins in Hungary in 2000 when the iconic DJ Titusz teamed up with sitar virtuoso, Szabolcs Toth, to form The Carbonfools. They brought on Zsuli (percussion), Zsazsa (bass), Kelo (drums) and Dado (guitar).

The band rapidly built up its fan base through appearances at gigs, festivals and parties before releasing their first electro rock/pop album, Poisoned Goulash (2004), to critical acclaim. Szabolcs soon left the band for India to perfect his sitar skills and the band made several remixes for other popular underground acts. English record label, Pure Mint, released three of the band’s singles that were a hit with many English DJs.

Balazs Feher, joined the band in Summer 2006. The band’s new second album, Carbon Heart, was recorded in October 2008 and further extended their reach and popularity. The band’s new guitarist, Istvan ’Steve’ Fekete, joined in February 2009 and new bass player, Milan Miklos, followed in February 2011. Today, the band members are: Dj Titusz, Kelo (drums), Steve (guitar), Balazs (vocalist), Milan (bass).

The band gave a live performance on the Hungarian X-Factor series and received top festival slots at Volt, Balaton Sounds and Sziget in 2011. They played with Dreadzone in 2011 in the UK at 2 gigs, Scala London and O2 Arena Birmingham, and were the only Hungarian band to play at both Exit and Trenchtown festivals in Serbia in 2011.

2012 saw the release of Clublights, a new track and video that is the first song on their eagerly awaited album, Carbonsweet, that was itself released in November 2012. This album went ’gold’ within 4 months and following a storming festival season cemented the band’s status as one of the country’s leading acts.

They performed at 40 gigs before 80,000 people in the first half of 2013 and are being courted by global brands. Their catalogue exceeds 80 tracks and comprises 4 albums, 1 vinyl single and remix all of which receive regular radio play. From a country of 9 million people the band has already amassed 4 chart-topping songs, 32,000 ’likes’ and nearly 7 million cumulative youtube hits. They are ready for the next (international) chapter...
