Bio
The Carruthers Brothers Band is a Montreal-based group of brothers from Red Rock, Ontario. Formed in 2001, the band is made up of older brother/guitarist, Steve Carruthers, middle brother/bassist/ vocalist/lyricist, Mike Carruthers, and younger brother/drummer, Alex Carruthers.
A blend of blues-based hard rock, the trio's progressive sound pushes the boundaries of roots music while staying faithful to its source, rock. The bands’ impassioned live performances have garnered the trio two TIMA (Toronto Independent Music Awards) nominations for Best Live Act and Best Blues Act.
TCBB has been performing across Canada since 2007, including multiple shows at The Thunder Bay Blues Festival and The Red Rock Folk Festival. Over the course of touring and recording their first EP- FILTER BLAST, in Vancouver, BC last year, they were featured on CBC music.ca's web competition, Searchlight -The Hunt For Canada's Best New Artist, placing as top 20 finalists from Northern Ontario.
