Biography

I introduce you to The Casserole! The Casserole was formed late 2006 in Wilmington,
NC when in a frenzy to find musicians for a last minute gig, members from multiple bands came
together. The magic ignited on stage, and since then the flame has never burned out. The band,
whose electric and acoustic sounds are a fusion of bluegrass, rock, reggae, jazz and country, has
continued to evolve and gain the needed ingredients to create the perfect casserole. The current
group consists of three members who spearheaded the project, as well as one new addition that
together have cooked up a casserole just like your momma used to make!

The Casserole is fronted by Steve Todd, mandolin, lead vocals, and songwriter. Todd joins one of the hottest rhythm sections in the area, TJ Prystal on Drums and Andy Dortch on Bass. They are now a four piece, rounded out by Dan Sweeney on Guitars. What really stand out are Todd’s intricate and insightful lyrics. He writes of both outward (In These Shoes, The Traveler) and inward journeys (Beaufort Nights, Dreamed of Carnivale) married to equally sophisticated melodies. The playing is top notch, and the music is just plain fun! Easy to digest and nutritious for the soul.
