Bio

Definition: catalyst ['kæt?l?st]
n 1. (Chemistry) a substance that increases the rate of a chemical reaction without itself suffering any permanent chemical change. This definitely explains the impending effect one emcee from Ohio's state capital is to have on music culture.

The Catalyst, aka Beau McNaboe, has a booming voice, a quick, dark wit, and a perfect rhyme scheme that will pretty much impress any fan of NYC's grimy rap, as it did for G Rap. A surprise phone call started a relationship that eventually led to a short-term but pivotal association with G Rap's crew, Five Fam Click.

That was made clear back in 2005, when a video clip of the Catalyst rapping at the DITC Big L Tribute show in Manhattan was posted to Real-HipHop.com. The Catalyst found himself being judged against freestyles from other known rappers—and he beat out a mixtape king Papoose(then-unknown) and Flipmode Squad's Lord Have Mercy in online voting. Sparked some interest from YoungLord, former Bad Boy "Hitman" & mentor to Ryan Leslie, resulting in meeting @ Czar Management.

As a member of Copywrite's ODOT crew, he's appeared on three national releases, Copywrite's Cruise Control (Nature Sounds), Jakki Tha Motamouth's God vs. Satan (Babygrande), and RJD2's lastest creation, The Colossus. He was also on Sickamore's Ignorant Shit mixtape, a Joey Fingaz tape and the latest DJ E-V tape, The ODOT Takeover. The Catalyst's crew Thought Set released a single, "Move," on the British label DMB Records.

He's currently plotting a solo project, and he plans on release the sequel to his Team Invasion Midwest(offshoot of Green Latern's fame movement) 'F@#k da Radio' mixtape. Currently working with Chach (D Block's engineer) on features with Styles P, Black Rob & G Dep, among others, the masses should prepare for the one 'constant' that will 'change' the game!
