Bio
The Catch 22s started life in January 2008 as a four piece pop band. After various line-up changes and a few new additions, the current line-up was reached.
The band began writing songs and almost immediately a mix of ska, punk and disco became their signature sound. It was this unique mix of musical genres plus the scathing in your face lyrics that made the band stand out as something new and exciting in the local music scene.
The bands live shows are defined by their energetic and lively delivery of upbeat sing along pop tunes, they are well known for taking the fight to the audience and meeting hecklers head on as part of the show. They have grown in popularity and have been playing to bigger and bigger audiences.
The Catch 22s recently enjoyed supporting ska ledgends The Beat in Dundee and were very well recieved. The band have enjoyed a lot of local radio play and made it to no.4 in Ally Gourlay's Leith Fm Top 100 Songs of The Year. Ally liked the album so much he play every track on it in his Art School Dancing Show and famously described them as "ABBA from hell".
In December 2010 the band signed to indie label Go Kill Disco/Ignite Records and have been enjoying a busy year of gigs promoting the album Talk of The Town.
