Bio

The Catch 22s started life in January 2008 as a four piece pop band. After various line-up changes and a few new additions, the current line-up was reached.

Lead Vocals - Lisa Greig
Backing Vocals - Lucy Donaldson
Guitar - Chris Corrigan
Keyboards - Kevan Donaldson
Drums - Paul Thomson
Bass - Mark Dolatowski

Mark and Lisa had written together in a previous band that played heavy indy music which they both eventually realised did not suit Lisa’s pop voice. When the old band split Mark asked Lisa if she wanted to try something lighter built around the style of her vocals. Paul Thomson was inbetwean bands too and agreed to give it a go.

The band began writing songs and almost immediately, ska, punk and disco, were incorporated into the sound. It soon became clear that these tunes were also the ones that people wanted to dance to the most. The band like nothing better than to have their audience dancing. About a year ago the rockier tunes were dropped altogether. The Catch 22’s present sound was settled upon. When we dropped the rock tunes the old guitarist, Andy Wilson, left too and in came Chris Corrigan with his tight ska rythmn guitar licks.

We had always wanted Keyboards in the sound and after nagging at Kevan Donaldson for about six months he finally agreed to join us for The Beat support slot. He enjoyed himself so much he stuck around. Lucy Donaldson is Chris Corrigans girlfriend and briefly took over on vocals after Lisa left for a few weeks then stayed on as backing singer when Lisa returned.

The band have grown in popularity and have been playing to bigger and bigger audiences and building a great reputation for writing catchy pop tunes and performing an energetic live show.
