Bio
Since 1997, as an "Old school MC meets electro producer/dj" duo The Cauldron Project has been laying down some of Eastern Canada's loudest hip hop, delivering it to their fans through an energetic live set.
With the release of their third album titled 506 Battalion on September 27th 2011 The Cauldron Project is planning on playing many cities across Canada's eastern provinces to promote the album.
With Randy Goldrup's (Stogy-1) often humorous and often self deprecating lyrical style combined with Denis Guitard's (dj godkorg) over the top synth work they have developed an act that is somewhat unique for a hip-hop duo. This is accomplished in part by the delivery of beats via synthesizers and samplers, sequenced and played back live in a way that is more akin to electronic acts such as Orbital, The Prodigy and The Crystal Method. This introduces an element of unpredictability on stage that has become a key element of their live set and something their fans look forward to. Actively defying classification, they have worked with artists from various genras of music often joining them on stage for part of their sets and featuring them on their recordings. The Cauldron Project have carved a place for themselves and have been well received on Moncton's live scene as they can often be seen playing along side punk, funk and metal acts.
