Bassist Charles Flores was absolutely frightening as was world-renowned drummer Horacio " EL negro" Hernandez. Mix in Puerto Ricans - reedman Miguel Zenon and percussionist Giovanni Hidalgo and the heated climate on stage surpassed that of the equator. “THE CHARLES FLORES BAND”

The career of the GRAMMY Award winner Bassist Charles Flores began in Cuba, with the Cuban jazz vocalist/composer Bobby Carcasses. While playing with Carcasses, he was recruited by pianist Emiliano Salvador, one of the key figures in the history of Cuban jazz. For the next three years, he performed throughout Europe and Latin America with Salvador and his quartet.

In the year 2002 he joined the Michel Camilo Trio, performing throughout the most important jazz venues of the world. Recording the "live at the Blue Note" Album, Charles Flores with Michel Camilo Trio won a Grammy for the Best Latin Jazz Album of the year 2003.

Charles Flores musical creativity and distinct style of playing continues to be demonstrated in his performances with Michel Camilo, Jane Bunnett, J.P. Torres, Brian Lynch, Giovanni Hidalgo, David Sanchez, BBC Big Band,Alturo Sandoval, Dave Valentin, Steve Khan, Dafnis Prieto,Fahir Atakoglu, Paquito D'Rivera and others.

The individual members of The Charles Flores Band each demonstrate a unique musical perspective offering their own personal origins of artistic and cultural attributes. Each with their personal style of performances create and integrate the special sounds of “The Charles Flores Band.”
