Bio

It has been a busy year for The Charlie Parkers and things aren't slowing down for this Queensland based four piece. With an EP “Falling for You” already in distribution they are putting the final touches on their new album "Step Back Forward" produced by Steve James. Backed by independent record label Rockinghorse Records in Byron Bay, a JJJ unearthed title for the song Something Wrong already under the belt, and radio airplay right across the country, The Charlie Parkers are unleashing their new sound creating a unique blend of indie dance rock.

"Our style is very hard to pin point and that’s just the way we like it" says lead singer/ guitarist Jason Delphin. Jason studied contemporary jazz at University and his influences are apparent both in the music and in the name. But the Charlie Parkers are anything but a jazz band. Their sound has been likened to The Killers, Kaiser Chiefs, The Arctic Monkeys, The Rapture and even a bit of Bloc Party for good measure and have graced the stage supporting high profile acts such as Powderfinger, The Living End, The John Butler Trio, The Butterfly Effect, 1200 Techniques and The Church.

There is definitely a sense of raw energy about the Charlie Parkers and when you throw indie rock, some groovy dance beats and a pinch of punk into the mix, people can’t help but end up on the dance floor. Having made their mark on the scene in a recent successful tour to Melbourne and regional Victoria, The Charlie Parkers returned to Queensland to finish their album and play a few select shows before hitting the road and taking their music to audiences around the country.

This July thru September 2007 The Charlie Parkers are back on tour through NSW, Victoria and South Australia in support of their debut album "Step Back Forward" and will coincide with the official album launch at The Spectrum in Sydney on July 18th
