"Emerald Theater Review"

One minute an empty theater, the next: packed. Why? The Chasers are one of those rare bands, where even with an 11:30pm Thursday night show, can STILL crowd the room. I kid you not, they rocked the Emerald with a refreshing pop rock sound that few actually do this well. Lead singer Angela Colasanti delivered tight vocals, and a fantastic live show - running, jumping, and dancing like I have not seen any front person do in ages. Backed by a solid band led by Sean Mallare on drums, Mike Thiel on bass, Tony Chambers on rhythm guitar and Steve Battista on lead guitar, The Chasers are consistently one of the few Eastside bands who never let the energy level dip below 9. Make sure you check them out for great ear and eye candy! And trust me, that’s NOT a bad deal! - Christopher Chouinard

"Biggs"

Caught the Chasers last nite at BIGGS bar and Grill in Chesterfield. If you don't know of The Chasers yet, you should. Not many eastside bands have the draw that these cats do, and for good reason. A mix of covers (from Led Zeppelin to Sublime and Bob Marley) to originals, including my favorite "Another Day" and
"424”.
Lead singer Angela is as easy on the ears as she is on the eyes, and has wonderful energy. Backed by a solid band featuring Sean Mallare on drums (who's also in the ex Ante M spin off THE GT-40's), Steve Battista - Lead Guitar
Mike Thiel - Bass, Tony Chambers - Rhythm Guitar, The Chasers really are a great way to spend a Monday night. Very jazz influenced, this is a chance to LITERALLY watch a band get their footing and develop their style before your eyes. Constantly touring inside and outside the Detroit area - the band has done several very successful California, and Midwest shows with their great act.
Do your best to check them out as they continue to develop, and judging by the crowds on Monday here (their third week in a row appearance) its gonna be harder and harder to find a seat as the football season progresses. The bar also features great grill/bar food and a great bar, with a great staff on hand to serve you up pronto. Wait time on my coke and pizza was about 15 minutes the first week out so your stomach doesn't have time to grumble !

"9/10/04"

-The Chasers return to the Hayloft, the first place I met the band the previous year. I had walked in to get a drink at a car show, and theu were playing. SInce then, they are now one of my favorite bands. -CC - C.C.

Bio

What comes to mind when you think of Detroit, Michigan? Years ago, the answer may have been: Motown, a thriving automotive industry, fine rock and roll bands such as Alice Cooper or Bob Seger, and maybe even the Tanya Harding and Nancy Kerrigan incident which took place at Cobo Hall in Downtown Detroit. In recent years, white rappers and garage music have been dominating headlines and airwaves here in the Motor City. The last thing that would be suspected is that there is a reggae and jazz influenced rock group hailing from Detroit that call themselves The Chasers. The Chasers are drawing attention to their genre of music, a genre that combines many different musical influences. The Chasers have built a good name by gigging everywhere from Detroit, Michigan to Orlando, Florida, having catchy tunes, having an exciting stage show, and by opening up for legendary bands including one of our favorites, The English Beat. Bottom line, come see us for yourself and decide what we sound like. If you just base all of your opinions off of what you read online, well, we're sorry to hear that and we hope you get better soon!
