Biography

theChef (Ian Ritchie, which is me), has been lurking around the Midwest for quit sometime. I started playing and collecting vintage analog gear, then jumped into the digital realm not too long ago. As an original founding member of SKL , with a brief stint in Blue Goat War and several solo projects, I have played out all over the Midwest (from Milwaukee, Chicago, St. Louis, Louisville, Columbus and anywhere in between.)
My main focus has been experimental electronic laptop music, but I have been known to compose and remix a wider range of music....including IDM, Acid Jazz, House, New Age, to just plain Noise.
My influences include, but not limited to: The Who, Aphex Twin, King Kong, Possibly Others, Plastikman, Air, David Bowie, Kraftwerk, Ozzy, Santana, etc.
During extended sets with SKL, there have been a few times that I have cooked Bananas Fosters or Cherries Jubilee over ice cream in the middle of the crowd. To date, no one has ever been burnt, a little tipsy, but not physically hurt!
