First single is availble in mid February with a completed album out a month later. Music Week have selected The Cherokees as one of only ten artists to be featured on their Meidem cover CD for 2007 and radio play is expected across Europe.

The Cherokees are a four piece band based in the city of Sheffield. The name comes from the 1960's single "Three Wheels on My Wagon". A song sung to frontman Paul Fodor during his childhood by his late uncle and mentor...whom Paul argues is still the most important influence in his writing. Like many twenty somethings living in the north, moulded by Thatchers Britain, the way forward was education. Unfortunately this promise didn't digest that well and the prospect of further education was abandoned, Choosing the potential for a recording contract over a post graduate degree, and practice room rent over student loans. The Cherokees all grew up within close quarters of each other in the ex mining village of Thorpe Hesley, now a middle class paradise. These four music obsessed individuals all shared a common feeling of apathy towards the 9 till 5 shirt and have since been searching, like many others, for a way out through something they do actually care about. On their journey so far the Cherokees have had the pleasure of working with artists and producers Richard Hawley (Longpigs, Pulp) and ex-Stranglers frontman Hugh Cornwell. The Cherokees have supported bands like The Killers, Longview, Morning Runner and Gene.
