Bio

The Cherry Valence was born in Raleigh, NC during the last leg of the 20th Century. The band rose from the ashes of the late, great Trucker and soon after established themselves as one of the hardest rockin' bands to ever hit the beaten path out of tobacco road. The Cherry Valence began to incorporate the garage/soul stylings of the mid '60s while also adding a healthy dose of the anthem-ish energy of the early '70s. The frenetic sounds of the polyrhythmic, double drummer/double frontman assualt leaves audiences levelled and always begging for more...

After touring incessantly in an old state prison van, the Cherry Valence captured the attention of Jake Starr of Fandango Records, (who released their "Two Headed Woman" single), and Dave Crider of Estrus Records, (who released the band's first two full length records, those being "The Cherry Valence" and "Riffin"). The band's popularity grew, as did their sound. By the time "Riffin" was released the Cherry Valence had become a well-oiled rhythm and energy machine and had hit every festival from Sleazefest to Garage Shock to CMJ to SXSW. There was only one more thing they could do. Take the rock to new lands... Europe warmly embraced the Valence and feverishly awaits for the band's next arrival.

TCV has seen many changes throughout their original inception. The band has included members of the Loners, Erectus Monotone, Vanilla Trainwreck, Regraped, Urge Overkill and of course, the aforementioned Trucker. The current line up Jamie Williams, Nick Whitley, Brian Quast, Erik Sugg and Charles Story began their latest recording project in Spring of 2004. To be released July 26, 2005 on Bifocal Media is their 3rd full length offering. "TCV3" captures the live intensity, ass shaking sex appeal and down home dirty rock vibe that The Cherry Valence are known and loved for world wide.
