The Chiefs

The Chiefs all grew up in the hills of Topanga cyn, a small mountain town next to the city of los angeles, throwing huge parties, playing great music and having a great time. The Chiefs are a five piece band composed of three classically trained musicians(bass, drums and keys) and two folk musician, poets(guitar and vocals) come together to not only bring great, diverse music to the masses, but to also create a high quality recordings of exceptional quality to the production industry.
The Chiefs officially assembled late 2008 writing songs and playing fun covers from our influences such as Traffic, Sly and the Family Stone, Canned Heat, Beatles and many more, and quickly became a local hit drawing large crowds of up to 500 at self promoted parties while continuing to write songs as well as develope our studio(Thanks to Sam). At the Topanga Days County Fair(which lead singer brooks was nominated to co-chair) The Chiefs and family were a large part of the heart and soul running the brand new second stage and headlining drawing a packed crowd. We are currently recording our album(which is near completion), as well as several others such as a hip-hop and heavy metal project, at our state of the art recording studio developed primarily by sam skolfield and brooks ellis were we dedicate our lives to the production of high quality music to get the peoples body and mind moving.
