The Chislers are a tense ride through the back woods of Hank Williams and Doc Watson, take a right at The Jay Hawks, left at Willie P Bennett, blow a tire on Johnny Cash, hit and run Kathleen Edwards, then go straight until you reach The Band
When I asked Shayne Bradley (lead vocals, guitar) what he thought the vibe of the band is, he replied; “Its pretty simple really, you take three veteran singer songwriters add a rock and roll drummer and give them the stage”…….And that’s where The Chislers are at their best. With an eclectic mix of charged, old time country roots originals, they have become a home town favorite winning over audiences in the Ottawa area. “We all wanted to play music that people can rip up the dance floor with, without sacrificing strong lyrical content or musical integrity” John added. That’s not to mention Shayne’s powerfully honest, captivating, baritone vocals that are the catalyst in The Chislers sound.
Residing in Wakefield Quebec, just north of Ottawa, an area known for breeding musical talent, The Chislers (when not driving John’s home made ice-road to his cabin for rehearsals) can be found in the studio recording their next project “5 Star”, due out this spring.
