The Chosen Aggregation

Fall 1992, God gave a vision to a young man. He saw a compilation of saved, sanctified, Holy Ghost filled, skillful and crafty musicians and singers. They gave an anointed high praise unto the Lord. And thus it was so; The Chosen Aggregation was born. The visionary waited patiently for God to move in His own time. The “labor process” was a long one, but God did it!

On October 1, 1993, the visionary gathered 7 saved, business savvy people together, each highly skilled in different areas and ready to serve. He discussed what he wanted to do and they saw “The Vision”! A vision of an environment where REAL singers could come to sing, shout, laugh, testify, and release their pressure. A stress free place where rehearsals flowed and the “Spirit” could too! A place where creative, anointed musicians could grow and be appreciated for their craft.

On October 16, 1993, the singers came together for what was to be the beginning of something wonderful. The choir grew to 45 singers and 5 saved, skilled, professional musicians that love the Lord and to sing praises to His name. There are now 19 voices that carry the sound of a 45 voice choir along with a highly anointed, saved, skilled and professional music director who is always accompanied by anointed, saved and skilled and professional musicians and every Saturday night they come together to perfect the gifts God has bestowed upon them.

The Lord has been good to these anointed Levites! In honor of our founder, the Dirk Chaney Cultural Development Foundation was developed as part of our community service program.

The Lord allowed Dirk Chaney & The Chosen Aggregation to record their 1st live project entitled. “God Is Great” which was released April 23, 1999 and the 2nd live project entitled “Another Days Journey” was recorded November 24, 2001. The majority of the material on the 2nd project was written and composed by Minister Chaney. The CD was released February 22, 2006. The group subsequently traveled to Europe to participate in the Stokholm Gospel Choir Festival in Sweden May 22-28, 2006.

The Lord called the leader and visionary of this ministry home November 17, 2002 but we are excited about what God is doing through this ministry of anointed singers. “To God be the Glory for the things he has done and for the things he is going to do!”

Since the passing of Minister Chaney, the group has continued to minister the Word of God through their Music. In March 2008, they traveled on their first East Coast Tour to promote "Another Days Journey" with stops in Long Island, NY, New York City, NJ, Newark, NJ, Princeton, NJ and Philadelphia, PA. The tour blessed them, as well as those who attended.

Currently, the Chosen Aggregation is in the preparation phase of their 3rd project, which will be a live recording held in October 2008 in Atlanta, GA.
