Bio

Hailing from Eastern Canada, The Chucky Danger Band create a fresh new sound that covers the nation like the morning dew. The members consist of brothers John and Rob MacPhee, Colin Buchanan, and Dave MacDonald. These whirlwind musical forces combine to generate a phenomenal assault on the auditory senses that is sure to blow you away.
Although the band has been together for only several months, their live CD, Two Brothers, Two Majors and a Minor, was highly anticipated and has been warmly received. The CD was recorded at the Arts Guild in Charlottetown, PEI, on August 15th by David Rashed. Two release parties were held; the first on September 16th at UPEI’s student bar, The Wave; the second on September 23rd at the Confederation Court Mall in the heart of Downtown Charlottetown. A studio version of the bands’ first single, “Living Forward”, was recorded by Jon Matthews. “Living Forward” was added into regular rotation on PEI’s rock radio station, Magic 93.1 FM, leaping onto the top of the stations’ chart show, The Top 9 @ 9 in less than one week. A second single, “Sweet Symphony”, is slated for release in mid-November.
The Chucky Danger Band’s first and foremost goal is to create incredible music accompanied by a phenomenal and electric live performance, but that’s not all they have planned. Cancer affects the lives of so many Prince Edward Islanders, and The Chucky Danger Band wants to use the opportunities they’ve been given to raise awareness and financial support for the PEI Cancer Society. The band formulated a plan with the Society, and decided to give ten percent of all the money they receive to support those who have been touched by the disease.
The Chucky Danger Band also have plans for upcoming shows and tours. Included among the shows booked in the near future are fund raisers, bar gigs, anniversary/holiday parties and professional functions. The band is currently planning an Island-wide “Music Education Awareness Tour”. The tour will encompass every high school on PEI, as well as several schools in New Brunswick and Nova Scotia. The tour will be based around a concert played at a local high school, featuring The Chucky Danger Band, as well as a local band chosen by the school. During the concert, members of The Chucky Danger Band will speak briefly about the benefits of music education/programs and how they have contributed to the bands’ continuing success. The proceeds from these concerts will be split in half with 50 percent going to The Chucky Danger Band and 50 percent going to the high school’s music program. Another tour in planning is “The Chuck Danger City Invasion Tour”. This tour will consist of the band visiting cities throughout the Maritimes, playing as many shows and doing as much media as they possibly can.
