Bio

"If we can make this band a living, then I think we've all done what we came here to do," says Adam Martin, guitarist/vocalist of The Circuit, a New Haven based pop/punk/rock group. The four piece group, which also consists of guitarist Mike Martone, bassist Steve Lanno, and drummer Brian Wells, were brought together in the aftermath of local giants GFN in the winter of 2006. As Martone puts it, "We couldn't just not play music." The group prides themselves on writing catchy, hook laced songs that not only entertain with wit soaked lyrics, but also tell honest life stories of heartache, revenge, and lessons learned. "I write my lyrics about things that have happened to me in the past...I like to be a little sarcastic," says Martin of his lyrical style. Much of the bands praise has came due to his well written hooks and energetic yet bluesy, heartfelt vocal delivery. In a short time, this group of Connecticut natives has already received critical acclaim from local critics and media outlets. The group was featured twice in CT newspaper The New Haven Register, with comments such as "the songs are as catchy as it gets" and "look out for this group." In 2007, The New Haven Advocate chose Martin as a featured artist in their "Stuck In A Corner With..." weekly article. In an article that the publication wrote in 2005, a critic said that Martin was "one of the best vocalists in the scene today." With a fierce work ethic and a passion for the unwritten language of music, The Circuit is a group of small town guys with big city dreams in their eyes. Martone has spoken before on his goals for the future, saying " I would be perfectly happy just traveling around playing shows every day for the rest of my life," a mentality and mantra that the rest of his band mates also keep close. The plan of attack for these four aspiring musicians: take over New England, then the East Coast, then wherever fate and all their efforts decides to take them.
