Bio

Not to be confused with Noam Chomsky’s speech “Class War: The attack on the Working People,” The Class War exhibits an energy driven by awareness and honesty. There music can be defined by the united themes and quick, to the point songs, which occur like explosions of passion.
The ironic mock-anthem “Don’t Forget I’m American” embraces an idea of American life as a mask of national pride, as its air of supremacy quickly vocalizes the antipathy of artists in an environment where art is replaced by the novelty of money and ambition.
On the other hand, the title track of the EP “A Crack In The Mask” employs the theme of the mask as the web of images that obstruct us from viewing objects as they exist. The last lines of the song “we want our minds back, give us our minds back” occurs as a cascade of musical and melodic violence, where for a moment one is called to look beyond what is presented and define the substance from the shadow.
The raw vigor and simple beauty of a band that is consistent with its methods and variations of song structures, as well as the specific modes of history and lyricism of its themes, paint the image of The Class War that is emblematic of a band that endures to care what they say, and how they say it.
