Long time promoter and host MC Yuin Huzami, having already had a hand in releasing 4 albums nationally (2 x Solotaro EP’s, solo album Making Tracks and Coalition self titled debut) has recently founded United Notions Records, an indy label distributed through Obese Records (Hilltop Hoods) to get behind a number of other quality local acts and assist them in getting their messages across to a wider audience. Having just released Rainman’s “Fire in the Belly” and Tommy Illfigga’s “The Unfiltered EP” nationally to critical acclaim, he is utilizing the 9 odd years of Industry experience he possesses to promote other up and coming artists and to further cement his positive role in the music industry.
Bass player/producer Toxic Al is set to release his second solo album entitled “Dooms Day Device”, a dark and moody Instrumental journey through the mind of this thoughtful and highly prolific producer. Set for release early next year through Hydrofunk Records.
Nikk C (current QLD DMC Champion) is known for playing a part in almost every local Hip Hop show in the past few years, he also performs regularly with other local acts such as Rainman, The Optimen and more.

Gaining Momentum

Written By: The Coalition Crew ft. Rainman & Kel

Verse 1 - Rainman

Now i know i'm not the dopest but i'm miles away from hopeless, i build skills and still will cos music is my focus, i'm growing slowly been sowing seeds steadily, connecting with like minded chaps who aren't settleing for nothing short of what we ought to be owed, so if your booking acts for shows then you ought to promote, peace to people who keep keeping brisbane music alive and f*ck those who suppose they can do what they like, we strive to earn a living without a nine to five and we might find it tricky but we'll always survive, no question count blessings spark freestyle session no guessing learn lessons and head in best directions, i mention tentions that i reckon aren't exclusive, a few kids who do things similar can use this, as food for thought or fuel for more action, i'll never stop looking for than satisfaction....

Chorus - together

I'm gaining momentum, gathering steam, investing income and building the scene, we keep releasing adapt with the seasons, let the breeze in and deeply breath in.

Repeat chorus.

Verse 2 - Yuin Huzami

I take it back to making tracks, my first hits the worst not prefered but it helped to quench my thirst since I searched the earth and learnt the verse rehearsed the words somtimes i'm moving slowly but never in reverse, around the city known as brissy known to move shit, improve with that new clique i'm truly down to boost this, no useless excuses my crew is exclusive, proof is conclusive don't snooze on our music. can't live without it how i really feel about it i doubt i'll find an outlet i'm as proud of as the sound of it now, i've been around and seen a town or two i'm down with, no doubt i've found the crowds who get loud for underground shit. can't sit around with bitter frowns admit its true that in life ya best pursue because there's always things to do, and in my opion i'll be living driven to get thru with insight, hind sight because our time here is finite...

Chorus 2

I'm gaining momentum, gathering steam, investing income and building the scene, we keep releasing adapt with the seasons, let the breeze in and deeply breath in.

Repeat chorus.

Verse 3 - Kel

I found this thing when i was young, learned to sing then life begun, from there i've run to it, come to spit my mother tongue to it, the music i'm in love with it heart pumps to it always sung to it run with it till I'm done with it,
From our capital city - to FNQ - to Brissy, found the sounds to let it all out never keep it bound up, round up the crew down a few and we get wound up, wind up with the sound up west siders from the ground up,
We found a way to live life and a way to share it, if this is my 15 minutes I'de better cut to some credits you bet its hard to forget it the harmonies, inherent, they blare it - I hear it, real musicians with merit (spirit). Old souls, got heart, yeah we wear it on our sleeves, make music till it bleeds never leave it unsaid, we're gathing strength, battling greed building a rep, like Ned Kelly we get the good word spread cause we're...

Chorus - together

I'm gaining momentum, gathering steam, investing income and building the scene, we keep releasing adapt with the seasons, let the breeze in and deeply breath in.

Repeat chorus.
