"Cognex Corp."

Hi John,
I sure can! The party certainly would not have been the same without you! There is no possible way to not have a great time when you guys are playing! I’ve been trying to come up with other parties just so I could hire you again! The band was very energetic, upbeat and exactly what our Caribbean theme needed!
Thanks again,
Kimberley

"Hopkinton Katrina victim Concert"

Thank you to the Cocabanana Band for stepping up at the Hopkinton Town Common Concert to raise money for the victims of Hurricane Katrina. The show was a big hit.
We raised a lot of money and had fun in the process. We hope that Cocabanana will come back to play in the Summer for our regular Concerts on the Common Series and be paid for the effort they put into the music they play.
Best Regards,

Michelle Gates, Chairman

"Claflin Hill Concert Series"

The Cocabanana Band put on a fantastic show for Claflin Hill's Family Night at the Bandstand in Milford during our 2005 Summer Season.
The band was energetic, engaging and sounded fabulous. The audience loved them. Kids, moms and dads, even grandparents were up on their feet dancing and singing along to the music.
On behalf of Claflin Hill, we were very pleased with the show and look forward to many more years of concerts in the park.
It's not everyday that you come upon a group of such talented and season professional musicians who are willing and able to create such an awesome show for the community. The Cocabanana Band held nothing back. A great group! - Bernadette Stockwell

"Dover"

The Dover Parks and Recreation Commission hired the Cocabanana Band for the first time this past summer for its concert on the common series.. One of the best bookings I ever made. The band was outstanding, keeping the audience involved with great music and personality. The band and audience were so into it, I had to tell the band to stop as we were about to run out of daylight. I would highly recommend them to anyone.

"Ally Foundation Boston,MA"

Dear Cocabanana Band,
The ALLY Foundation's third annual Flip Flop Regatta has now come and gone. I wanted to write a final note of thanks to you for your contribution and commitment to this event.
We had over 600 people attend the Mt Gay tent festivities.....Once again the post-event buzz regarding the race and tent parties has been truly fantastic. Thanks to you this event will continue to be the premier summer event in Boston Harbor.....
That's all for now. It's been a pleasure chairing the event, and again, thank you so much for your help!

Bio

Introduction to THE COCABANANA BAND and their Carib Rock Genre

The seeds of The Cocabanana Band’s sound were watered back in 1997 when John Burrows and FACE!
began their 6 year, Wednesday night run at John Stone’s Tavern in Ashland, Massachusetts.

Burrows’ island/ nautical background led to set lists of original songs chronicling his Caribbean island experiences.

As the band’s primary songwriter, the song that predicted the evolving Cocabanana Band sound was his “Hey There” a simple song written “to the audience from the band”.

What emerged from those several hundred Wednesday night sessions was a sound built on Crosby Stills and Nash, Orleans, and Poco- like harmonies singing Burrows’ Carib Rock lyrics.... soon to be stacked upon a very hot and spicy Latin Rhythm section.

FACE was gradually shaping the musical standards of the new band. With perfect pitch, a rare gift, every nuance within the act was scrutinized.

Musical Director FACE! explains: “Singers with good intonation could pretty much ad lib a 2 part harmony and sound pretty good. But,…..adding the third and fourth parts takes exponentially more effort to get the intervals right.

That’s why the band has a weekly 4 hour rehearsal, to get it right.
