The Collapse

The Collapse

We play indie/experimental music. Each song is new and exciting with infectious melodies that get stuck in your head, and amazingly analytical lyrics that open your mind. We create atmospheres that suck you in. We experiment with style and arrangement opting for originality instead of repetition.

"The Collapse" was originally just John Henderson playing all the instruments. Over the last year he found Alex, Will, Brent and Mike and began working on translating those songs live. In 2008 we won a nationwide contest sponsored by Alpine called Rock the Dash. We're going to be used in Alpine's promotions over 2009. Our arrangements are extremely interesting. Also our lyrical content and emotion is honest, original, and captivating. No songs sound alike and we're constantly experimenting.

Our influences are Radiohead, Xiu Xiu, Bright Eyes, The Cure, Bjork, Cake, The Foals, David Bowie, Beck, Talking Heads, Joy Division, Talk Talk, Einsturzende Neubauten, The Beatles, Deerhoof, Blur, Blonde Redhead, Elliot Smith, Pixies, Of Montreal, Depeche Mode, Sonic Youth, and Low.

We haven't released any tangible songs. We have songs on and on myspace.
