The Colonels

The Colonels (pronounced ker-nulls) began in 2007 with a group of talented musicians and skilled songwriters. Thinking it would be amusing, they began to perform some of their fa- vorite Classic Country tunes along with an array of their own originals. It was a great contrast to their regular Praise and Worship gigs and very amusing to their college friends. Soon, a much larger fan base ensued. Being given a great opportunity, they began writing and recording more of their own music. A more serious approach was taken, resulting in the true birth of The Colonels.
In 2009, The Colonels won the Mississippi Colgate Country Showdown and came in 1st runner-up at the National Southeast Regional Finals. The Jackson Press voted the band Best Coun- try Artist of 2009 and again in 2010. The band would also go on to receive Honorable Mention for Songwriting.
Still playing regularly, The Colonels have developed a large following in the Southeast and have quickly become a favorite in the Jackson Music Scene. Their ever expanding set list now has something for everyone, spanning nearly every musical genre including; Country (modern and classic), Pop, Rock, Funk, R&B, Hip Hop, and a few originals along with a short set of Smooth Jazz to kick off your wedding reception or formal event. The Colonels are available for your festivals, weddings, private events, corporate events, and clubs.
