Bio

Members from two great bands have joined forces to create The ColourSound. The essence of great bands such as Oasis, Ride, Travis, The Dandy Warhols, The Charlatans and more pulse within their classic rock-influenced sound. Doug Batt (formerly of motherwell), lead singer and rhythm guitarist, howls like a wind pipe possessed by the music. In the vein of the great rock lead singers before, his voice is the northern light for the inspired, energetic recklessness that occurs behind him. The ColourSound has so much energy that they can afford to put Pat Wilson, one of the best front men on the planet (Poppycockbabble), behind the drum set. Pat's creative and wild percussion abilities rival his singing and guitar skills. Lead guitarist, Sean Hieter (formerly of motherwell), is the driving force behind this fearless foursome. His creativity and mastery of sonic effects are the fertile ground where The ColourSound's inexplicable, signature sound is harvested. Not to be outdone by the three stars among him, NYC native Leni's explosive bass playing, and unique samples ignite the sound-storm with pure rock and roll thunder (just in case you needed to feel things in a more physical way). Other than his attendance at The ColourSound gatherings, little personal information is known about this reclusive, private individual. Undeniably, the influences of The ColourSound can be heard from the first note, but the professionalism, drive, and refusal to play stock music is what sets this band apart. Evermore, the evolution from their great rock predecessors, and countless hours spent perfecting themselves has created a distinctive sound that not only gives great respect to the classic rock four-pieces of the past, but gives hope to many for the future of Rock and Roll.
