The Community Chest

After anulling his previous band The Burton Cool Suit, former Turnstyle frontman/songwriter Adem K embarked upon a series of informal recording sessions in 2008/2009 which resulted in the ‘Community Chest’ album. His first official solo release.

Spurred on to put a band together, Adem has finally assembled a five piece band to play songs off the album with a view to eventually writing and recording a new album in the band format. The Community Chest are essentially an indie-rock band with a heavy lean on analog synths, spacious arrangements and Adem’s trademark catchy pop choruses.

As well as playing at Southbound in 2010, Adem (with live drummer) has been playing a steady run of shows throughout 2009 to 2011 with a view to upping the ante, seeking higher profile support slots and council/ public performances for his new 5 piece band. The band has also begun work on another full length album of Adem’s new songs which should see a single release (or two) before the end of the year.

Adem (and his band members) have been supporting and playing in the local, original WA scene for 10 to 20 years and in Adem’s case have taken this promotion nationally on several occaisions.
