The Corbitt Brothers Band present themselves with a well rounded set of bluesy rock, gritty southern country and a classic flavored edge to great timeless tunes.
Starting acoustically with the stripped down soulful simplicity of Newsome's balladeering an original song showcasing eloquence tinged with a gravely edge vocally. Isaac manned the harmonica effusing effortless streams of artistic amore.
Introductory nods to the classics such as The House Of The Rising Sun, and rounding out the start of the set with another original composition uptempo and fresh.
Newsome and Isaac were then joined by a the band which included Joey Fletcher Lead Guitar, Lane Baker Bass and Brandon Buck Drums. The full sound had a great strong bassline and tight instrumentals with the pure enjoyment of artistry shining through.
I Walk The Line led followed by Marshall Tucker's Fire on The Mountain showing a straight shot of style and stability. Newsome the front man was joined by brother Isaac on harmony.
Diversity reigned with adding Billy Jo Shaver's Georgia On A Fast Train and Old Crow Medicine Show's Wagon Wheel. Wagon Wheel is the most requested song and had many in the audience joining in.
The band throughly enjoyed the stream of creativity and flow which was appreciated by the crowd. Newsome was gracious frontman and shared the stage with guest Dave Broomhead who brought some funk with Stevie Wonder, Rolling Stones and great dance tunes.
The Buganut Pig is a nice intimate venue with a small well lite stage with a mix of MTSU students and the mature music connoisseurs. Welcoming and offering great service definitely worth a night out enjoying the entertainment.

The Corbitt Brothers are wild. Bottom line! Not only wild, but very talented and a very tight group. Newsome and Isaac Corbitt are brothers originally from Jacksonville, Florida. Newsome is the lead vocalist for their band and plays rhythm, lead, slide guitar, and dobro. Isaac is the harmonica, mandolin player, and backup vocalist.They have been in Murfreesboro, TN since July 8, 2008, and have hit the music scene hard. Playing in many local bars for events, private parties, and opening for multiple local artists. The Corbitt Brothers passion for playing music and entertaining is second to none. They play from their hearts and love what they do. They pride themselves on their original music but also play a wide variety of cover songs from different genres ... primarily southern rock, outlaw country, and blues. They believe in music in its simplest and purest forms and that all music should be appreciated. Thanks!
