Bio

In August 2004, the beginnings of The Cosmic Americana Band started to form when Seth started playing open mics around the Cookeville area. He ended up meeting several musicians who shared a similar taste in music. One of those people was Spencer Huffines. In July 2005, Seth set up a jam session one night with his roommate, Andrew, on drums, Spencer on multiple instruments, and their friend Hawk on bass. This was the initial lineup of the band. About a week after their jam session, Seth and Andrew came across an open mic opportunity for bands. They signed the band up under the name The Cosmic Americana Band, and two weeks later, the band had their first show. It was quite different from their show now. Seth played solely acoustic guitar, and Spencer played lap steel and mandolin instead of electric guitar. Eventually, Eric Trusty was rotated into the position as bass player which solidified the current lineup. Since then, their sound has evolved somewhere inbetween indie rock, adult alternative, and folk. TCAB still has the occasional twang due to Seth and Spencer's mutual love of alternative country, but they're definitely not afraid to rock.
