"Courtney Chambers Nixes Jinx"

When The Courtney Chambers Band performs.....the Yorba Linda based group will be slaying the so-called sophomore jinx with every note played.
From the accessible and melodic "Just What I Need" and Haunting "Already Know" to the hard-rock edge of "Find My Way', Chambers sings with the kind of emotional authenticity that tragically eludes many strong-voiced singers. - OC Register

Bio

Who are they? Definition: The Courtney Chambers Band (n.) 3 like minded musicians coming together to create and innovate sounds in the world of music. The Orange County trio came together after years of searching for the perfect combination of styles, techniques and personalities. With the perfect blend of pop, rock, jazz and folk the trio set out to create music that would not just be ear candy but to expand beyond the barriers of manufactured pop/rock. Courtney Chambers began putting together the band in 2003 where she reunited with drummer/percussionist Mel Flores. The two had originally met at a show years earlier where they shared the bill at a local coffee house show. With a strong musical chemistry between them they began working out the songs for the 2004 release "Higher Places" and put together a studio band to finish the record. At the tail end of 2005, bassist Jeff Hawley joined the duo. His jazz background and pop sensibility gave the band what they needed to develop the sound they wanted to deliver. Not only did they gel musically but found that they actually kind of liked each other, making a very happy marriage. Their chemistry has caught the ears of The Orange County Music Awards being nominated for Best Classic Rock Band in 2007. The band is busy putting together Courtney Chambers' 3rd record with a 2007 Summer release of "Bigger & Brighter" on the independent Royal Daughter label produced by Sean Hoffman, reflecting the many influences ranging from bands such as Led Zeppelin and The Allman Brothers to the more feminine influences of Patty Griffin, Tori Amos and Fiona Apple. Shortly thereafter they will be heading off for a bi-coastal tour including New York, San Diego, San Francisco and Los Angeles in support of the new record.
