Miami, Florida, United States (March 2012 - Present)
THE CRANKERS, band formed in Miami, Florida, USA by Raul Avendano (A.K.A. Bob Cranker - Front man). Raul is American but from Colombian parents living most of his lifetime in USA. His influences are focused on Blues, 50’s and 60’s Rock and Roll, Desert Rock and Western. In addition to this, he acquired experience through his parents that managed recording studios in Colombia and their label specialized in Latin music (salsa, merengue, vallenato and others) “Kuky Records” and managers from the Colombian Musicians Sindicate recording studio “Sintramucol”.
Raul made his university studies graduate as journalist in Barranquilla, Colombia. There, he met Jairo Macias (A.K.A. Jake Cranker - Rhythm Guitar, Vocals). After that, Raul returned to Miami to work as a freelance for about 4 years and then he met Jairo again in Miami and started to work the Project called “THE CRANKERS”.
After this meeting, Raul and Jairo started to seek musicians in Barranquilla, Colombia, supporting on their experience and musical knowledge, making auditions and they’ve found Emanuel Gamarra (A.K.A. M-Cranker - Lead Guitar, Vocals), Hans Gamarra (A.K.A. Hans Cranker - Drums) and Luis Altahona (A.K.A. Luke Cranker - Bass, Vocals and Musical Director), making the Project come true in march 2012. All the band members from THE CRANKERS come from different projects in Colombia during years such as: 6to Piso, The Yorkes, Rock Con Pasas, Soundfeels, Boza, Insignia, Avatar, Hypnosis, Jairo Macias Band and Fich Dich.
In October 2012, a new member joins the band, Andres Gamarra (A.K.A. Andy Cranker - Keyboards, Vocals).
