"The Craze plays to please all in shows"

It is not often people get to hear the music of dozens of the worlds most famous artists and groups in one night.
But that is the exact experience Brassall-based cover band The Craze gives its fans.
The three man group has appeared in front of crowds throughout Queensland since forming five years ago, covering modern, classic rock and country songs from muscicians across the globe.
While lead vocalist and bass player Don Pitkin said it was important the band had fun on stage, he maintained their shows were all about the fans.
"We try to stick to dance stuff so people will get involved". Mr Pitkin said.
"We want people to enjoy themselves, but we want them to get involved as well. When we're picking our covers, we try to choose the most 'danciful' songs we can".
After the group built a studio in Brassall, Mr Pitkin said he was looking to continue the band's development alongside guitarist Mick Lynn and drummer Steve Halliday.
"We're working on originals now but doing covers takes up a lot of our time, so it.s hard". Mr Pitkin said.
"Ultimately, original work is what we want to be doing".
The Craze will play at The federal hotel on December 5, before heading to Brothers Leagues Club on December 20. - Ipswich News November 6th 2008

Bio

The Craze is an energetic and exciting 3 piece band.

In addition to covering classics and contemporary favourites, they also work on exciting and original sounds. Some would call them pub-rock band others would call them a bloody good time!

Professionally structured, weekly practice sessions prepare the band for the rocking-out nights their regular venues and occasional corporate & private functions.

Some of the venues have included The Tivoli theatre, Brothers Leagues Club, Ipswich, The Racehorse Hotel, Mt Crosby Bowls Club, Ferny Grove Tavern, Blue Fin Fishing Club, Kilcoy Hotel, Wilsonton Hotel, Hotel Broadway, The Lawnton Tavern & The Bearded Dragon.

The crowds have a blast!! (Venue staff has been known to dance about as well).

Together these 3 guys are not only professional entertainers but great mates enjoying themselves and their music.

Don is the lead singer & bass player for The Craze. He has been singing and playing guitar since he was a teenager. He's a fun-loving family man but his powerful voice & exuberance on stage gets everyone onto the dance floor. He has played in bands such as Easy Street, Jamming Jaffa’s and The Crash.

Initially trained as a organist, Rowan began playing guitar in the early 1980's. Rowan moved to Adelaide in the early 1990s where he played with a variety of blues, pub rock and rock'n'roll bands.
Returning to Ipswich in 2006

Steve has been playing drums forever. He loves his Pearl kit and if you know drummers you should come and check him out because he is amazing and his backing vocals are a treat. He has played around Australia and NZ in bands such as Roxair, Touchè, Phoenix, Wells Fargo and The Ramblers.

The Craze come fully equipped with professional gear including a Mesa Boogie Bass Amp, Eminence Amp, Pearl Drum Kit & a Yamaha 01v96 Digital mixer and stage lights for a great sound and atmosphere.
