The best kept secret in music

"Post and Courier"

The debut recording by The Cribb, "Theo Wilson Square," demonstrates that three Cribbs are indeed better than one. While Rik's songwriting has only improved (and anyone who heard SKWZBXX will tell you that it was already pretty good to begin with), the addition of Carini and the other two Cribb brothers has erased any doubt that The Cribb will make some waves in the music world. Listen to "Get By," the track that kicks off the CD, and you just know that you're going to be hearing it on the radio soon. That song, as well as more than half of the others on the album, "BetterPlace," "Breathe," "Wherever You Are," represents the sort of material that some bands only dream of writing.

Won't you join me as I kick back and watch for the inevitable feeding frenzy from the major labels? (A-)

"Glide Magazine.com"

It can’t be a coincidence that The Cribb named this album after a Los Angeles landmark. Theo Wilson Square is so full of Hollywood dreams and heartache, you’d think the Cribb brothers had packed up for LA from South Carolina with stars in their eyes and neon fantasies in their souls. Actually, that’s pretty much what happened. And if this record is any indication, there’s a damn good chance they might make it. Theo Wilson Square is a record executive’s wet dream, full of catchy melodies and gently rockin’ songs about love, life, faith and dreams. - Brian Gearing

"Music Connection"

The Cribb crafts momentous rock songs that beg to reverberate in a stadium. The best of the group’s material shows the band to be spiritual cousins of U2 as this quartet likes a large dash of uplifting themes mixed in with their melancholy.

The Cribb is a group that has already realized their considerable potential. With time, they may expand their musical horizons, but their talent is full grown. It’s now up to labels to discover this polished jewel of a band. In the meantime, anyone looking for epic rock should check them out. - Sarah Torribio-Bond

"Charleston City Paper"

Theo Wilson Square (is) a subtle gem of an album that demonstrates the magic that can emerge when blood calls blood. Never underestimate the power of familial harmonizing; Rik, Billy and occasionally Derek’s voices blend together to create a surreal, almost perfect sound. - Sarah Miller

Bio

The Cribb finds their identity through the roots of rock icons like the Beatles, Stones, Neil Young, The Replacements and U2, yet are still making their own sound.

They hail primarily from South Carolina, with the majority of the members being brothers. Rik, Billy and Derek Cribb got together to form a band and found lead guitarist Andy Carini to complete the quartet.

Rik Cribb, on lead vocals and guitar, had played in the ska band, SKWZBXX (pronounced “Squeeze Box”) and when they disbanded in 1999 he moved to Los Angeles to pursue music in a new environment. After arriving, he called his brother Billy and told him to pack up his bass guitar and move out. Now they only had to convince Derek, a phenomenal drummer who played in the reggae band Sol Driven Train, to leave school in Florida and join them out West. Derek jumped at the opportunity to play with his older brothers. The next and final piece of the puzzle came into place when lead guitarist Andy Carini showed up outside of Rik’s apartment/studio.

They have since played all over the west coast and have a solid following. Recently the band moved to Charleston, SC to further develop their grassroots fan base.
