The Crizz Moreno Trio was born from our need as musicians to develop an alternative within the Jazz convention where we could express our individuality and our multiple musical influences which go from traditional Jazz to Rock'n Roll, Pop, Latin, R&B and Fusion.

Biography

Juan C. Moreno (guitar-bandleader)
Juan has worked professionally for over 30 years in his native Venezuela playing a variety of styles, settings and venues. He performed as a bandleader, sideman and as recording session player for many popular artists in his country. After moving to USA at his forties, he was given the opportunity to share the stage with important names like Jazz musicians Bobby Shew and Bernard Wright, and Spanish classical guitar ensemble Los Hermanos Romero. Currently teaching at Collin College in Plano Texas and privately, he has been expanding his horizons into Composition and Music technology. Juan loves the challenge of playing in a trio setting, but also enjoys performing in medium and large Jazz ensembles. He is proud of recently born granddaughter Natalia.

Drew Hunter (drums)
Born and raised in Atlanta, GA, Drew Hunter relocated to Texas in the late 80's to attend the University of North Texas. After graduating with a bachelor's in music in the 90's he taught percussion at many different schools in the DFW area, as well as private lessons, and played in many musical situations from jazz to rock to polka to orchestral music. Currently he maintains a full schedule of performing only, with many different groups, playing in a wide variety of venues including 5 star hotels, festival stages, American Airlines Center, clubs, churches, Nasher Sculpture Center, wedding venues, House of Blues, Dallas Arboretum, and area recording studios. He lives with his wife of 10 years and their two kids in Flower Mound.

Young Heo (bass)
Born in South Korea, Young Heo moved to the United States during his teen years. Armed with a degree in Jazz Studies from University of Texas-Arlington, Young teaches guitar, bass, and piano in the Dallas area and free-lances in a variety of settings. Young performs and records with King*s Region Band and Tin Roof Tango, and prefers sweet over salty snack foods.
