The Crowd is an twelve piece rhythm and blues band based in Ottawa. They came together in January of 1996 as a "get together have some fun" band and have since been performing all over Ottawa and the Ottawa Valley as well as Montreal and Toronto. They appeared on the main stage at The Ottawa BluesFest, 2003 & 2004, and opened the show for Lonnie Brooks at The Limestone City Blues Festival in Kingston, Ontario.
They have performed at the Rainbow, Tucson's, Bourbon Street Ottawa, the Black Sheep Inn, The Ottawa Tulip Festival, Pembroke Harbor Festival and Hawkesbury Music On The Hill Cancer Society benefit as well as private parties and weddings.
The Crowd features Robert Reynolds, Anastasia Filippova and on lead vocals, a five piece rhythm section and a four piece horn section. With this diverse lineup they are able to cover a wide variety of rhythm and blues, soul and funk. Their repertoire includes songs from artists such as Otis Redding, Aretha Franklin, James Brown, Etta James, Dr. John, and many other R & B standards as well as high powered instrumentals and the odd original composition.
Bottom line - FUN - The minute they stop having fun the Crowd no longer exists.
